Ecstatic Dance has a long history in Portland, Oregon - going back at least to the early 90s, when Vinn Marti opened the Dance Moves studio in downtown Portland.

Dance Moves closed in 2003, and in the next 15 years, Vinn's students and other dancers created a wide variety of ongoing events, including Sacred Circle Ecstatic Dance, Mindful Meltdown, Momentum Conscious Movement, and many others.

With this site, we hope to create a one-stop listing of current events for our community, as well as a history of the evolution of ecstatic dance in Portland.
